Directed by Jonah Ray, it’s a dark tribute to Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” video, except this time there are way too many Chevy Chases to go around… and things get dark. Watch it via Funny or Die. In addition to Cronin and Ray, the video also stars Braunohler, Nick Thune, Nelson Franklin, and more.

Comedian and auture director Kurt Braunohler masterfully assembles a dream team of stars (including but not limited to Kristen Schaal) to make what is perhaps my oldest and dumbest idea come true: to remake Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” video shot-for-shot. – Mikal

Screen Shot 2015-05-04 at 12.53.47 PM

Mikal Cronin and comedians Kurt Braunohler and Kristen Schaal team up to recreate a shot-by-shot reenactment of Natalie Imbruglia’s music video “Torn”, with some funny surprise character drop-ins, for Cronin’s music video release “Turn Around.” This collaboration is part of JASH’s $5K Video Series where, JASH pairs an up-and-coming musical act with a comedian, gives them $5000, and tells them to spend the money however they want, as long as they spend it all and come back with a video.

DIRECTED BY: Kurt Braunohler
STARRING: Kristen Schaal, Kurt Braunohler, Paul Scheer, Rory Scovel, Jonah Ray Rodriguez + Ty Segall, Matt Mondanile, and Charles Mootheart

Thank you, JASH!
